The GECKO4-Education platform has been developed as a low-cost small platform to serve as an enabler for our students to get hands-on experience with real hardware.
The heart of the GECKO4-Education platform is an Cyclone IV FPGA (EP4CE15F23C8) form Altera. It can be used either with logisim-evolution or directly by describing the system in VHDL and using the
Intel Quartus Prime Lite Edition v18.* design software to generate a bitstream and download it to the FPGA.

The below figure indicates the whole set-up of the Gecko4Education EPFL-Edition. It contains a box, a Live-USB Stick with debian OS and a mini USB-Cable.
