GECKO4-Education¶
The GECKO4-Education platform has been developed as a low-cost small platform to enable our students to get hands-on experience with real hardware. The platform will be used for the practical work in the first two years of their bachelor studies.
The heart of the GECKO4-Education platform is an Cyclone IV FPGA (EP4CE15F23C8) form Altera. It can be used either with logisim-evolution or directly by describing the system in VHDL and using the
Intel Quartus Prime Lite Edition v18.* design software to generate a bitstream and download it to the FPGA.

The different peripherals connected to the FPGA are described in the subsections of this documentation, including a short description of how to instantiate and use them.
