Here we have place for putting all the ideas for the practical works in combination with the GECKO4-education platform.
- KEM4, here a few ideas from my side:
- Class D Amplifier (Full-Bridge possibly w Sigma-Delta Modulator)
- 3 Phase Motor Inverter
- DC/DC-Converter (digitally controlled Up/Down-Converter)
- MHT1:
- Breakout board to easily access all I/Os and, e.g., connect them to a breadboard for prototyping
- Board to drive 2 to 3 step motors plus some relays (e.g. for a 2-D plotter or 3-D printer).
- Board with 7-segment LCD display and connector to a DCF77 antenna
- Board with 2 ADCs and 2 DACs, which are sufficiently fast to be able to exploit the speed of the FPGA and realize, e.g., a DSO and arbitrary signal generator. Maybe the board should also contain some 2-port DRAM if the FPGAs own memory ressources are not sufficient.
- Sensor board: accellerometers, gyrometers, temperature sensor, pressure sensor, magnetometer, IR sensor, RFID reader
- adaptor for Arduino Shields, which would provide access to relative cheap peripherals that could be used in the projects of BTE5011-BTE5012 and BTE5021-BTE5024. E.g., a similar adaptor is available for the BeagleBone black.
- adaptor for BeagleBone Capes
- adaptor to use the GECKO4-Education board as a BeagleBone Cape so that Roger could use it as peripheral in his courses.
- HZD1 (translated by MHT1):
- An adaptor board with 4 PMOD female connectors and a 40 pin plug to connect to the existing LogicPort analyzers could be developed for the existing GECKO4-EDU board. This would allow to connect the following already bought modules:
- ACM2009: SCA3000-E01 3-AXIS Ultra Low Power Accelerometer with digital SPI Interface VTI Technologies
- RFR2010: RFID Reader mit EM4095 analog front end for 125kHz EM Microelectronic
- IIR2012: IR Receiver mit TSOP34138 Module for Remote Control Systems
- DAC2012: Digital Analog Converter mit LTC2604 Quad 16-Bit Rail-toRail DACs Linear Technologies
- BMD2014: Brushless Motor Driver mit DRV8312 Three Phase PWM Motor Driver Texas Instruments
- SMD2009: Step Motor Driver mit ULN2064B quad Darlington switches for Unipolar Step Motors
- PmodCLP: 16×2 character LCD module Digilent
- 6 seven segment displays on the GECKO4-EDU board itself to realize the existing clock lab exercises
- instead of the two parallel multipoint connectors more GPIOs would be advantageous
- HDMI instead of VGA display interface on the GECKO4-EDU board to ensure compatibility with screens without VGA support
